Why Vegan

Yes I’m a vegan. Or just vegan. Either way, I don’t ‘consume’ animals or any animal products. That puts me in a small minority in this world. And for a lot of people, being vegan isn’t an option. I feel lucky that I have the opportunity to choose.

This bike ride will give me many challenges, particularly when it comes to food. I think every bike tourer obsesses about the food they’re looking forward to (they hope) at the end of each day. My choices will be more difficult and people probably won’t understand what the heck I’m on about (if they even understand my dodgy Spanish). I live in Vancouver where it’s (by comparison) ridiculously easy to be vegan. Try explaining that in a roadside cafe in El Salvador.
